Stephen Roberts
Stephen Roberts has been a potter since 1990, beginning as a trainee at Flaxton Gardens Pottery. Completing an Association Diploma of Art in 1995, he now teaches ceramics in Cooroy and Brisbane. He is a member of the wood-firing team at Rowley Drysdale’s property, Quixotica.
Using a foot-powered wheel and hand building methods, Stephen produces functional stoneware pottery and small sculptures.
He shares his workshop with his wife Kari, under their home at Palmwoods. Their workshop has four wheels, a gas kiln and not enough shelves! In the back yard is a chook pen, a small forest and a wood-fired kiln.
