Maki was born in 1977 in Hakodate, Japan where she has
shown her work in various exhbitions and competitions.
Graduating from Otani Art College, Sapporo, Japan, Maki
exhibited in both Sapporo and Hakodate. Paintings were accepted in competitions
in Sapporo and Tokyo. Illustration published in "Fear of the Unknown",
a book of stories and art, published in Canada (2004).
Maki works in acrylics, often on "Sugi¹ (Japanese
cedar); on linen, canvas, paper and stone.
People often ask her about the setting of her paintings.
"Where is this"? The answer is in the heart of her mind.
In May 2005 Maki moved to South East Queensland falling
in love with the nature and birds of Queensland!
Since arriving in Australia, Maki has enjoyed much acclaim;
winning prizes in art Competition and has been invited to exhibit in
selected galleries. Maki's work will be featured regularly at Main Street
Gallery, Montville.
Maki's delightful paintings are also available in a series
of limited edition prints, incorporating "haiku" poetry by
Hillel Weintraub ... the combination creating a beautiful synergy.
