Kathy O'Shannessy
Kathleen (Kathy) O'Shannessy was born in Kempsey, NSW where her interest
in art began to intensify during her formative high school years.
Although she has been pursuing a career in art since 1970, it wasnt until
she discovered she had a flair for painting in acrylics, that she achieved
her first major award in the early 90s at the Royal Agricultural Society,
Easter Art Show, and hasnt looked back since.
Kathy started her tertiary studies in 1970 at the Julian Ashton Art School
and also attended the Royal Art Society, and continued her studies with
various tutors including Reg Fenbow, Joshua Smith, Lindsay Sever, Tony
Tozer and Helen Goldsmith.
Kathy has combined her art studies with a happy marriage and raising
four sons, which has been her major occupation during the past 35 years.
