Statement -

I went from school to Art School, only taking a 2 year course as I was planning taking a job at a Mayfair Fashion House, London, an exciting career option and far more interesting than school.

I then married a Swedish man and moved to Sweden becoming a mother and housewife, however I did manage to study art at evening classes.

I slowly returned to the art world, eventually giving evening classes, having a few exhibitions and starting to sell paintings again.

After the death of my husband I followed my 2 children to Australia settling first on Magnetic Island, and once again slowly got back into the art circle, and exhibiting in Townsville.

Now residing in Maleny, and showing again regularly in the area, one thing for certain, is that I shall paint till I drop as it is what keeps me going.

Rosemary Almberg's artworks - typically oils on canvas - capture a unique sensitivity to light, music, mood, season, nature, and manipulate a subtle palette of life in Northern hemisphere - her experience of subtle colours, light and tones. Her works both abstract and nature / landscape inspired are each individual, contemporary, fresh and intriguing. The 'Music in Paint' series is an ongoing exploration into Rosemary's love of Classical, Jazz and Modern classics.
